Rookie group F.CUZ met with reporters before their comeback performance on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank“, and revealed a bit about their feelings regarding their return.
“We had such a long hiatus, I feel as nervous as I was when we first debuted. We’ve become a lot more greedy in wanting to do better than before. I’m sick of hearing that we’re a ‘failure’ group.”
Member Jinon added, “We’ll truly be putting everything we’ve got on the line for this promotion cycle, so we ask for our fans to please support us.”
The members all concluded, “Throughout the album recording, all of us were extremely satisfied with the results. That’s how hard we worked, and will continue to work, while making sure to grab every opportunity and enjoy our performances as much as possible.”

F.CUZ does not want to be branded as ‘failures’
John Park and Huh Gak might have been with JYPE?
That’s right. The two finalists of Mnet’s Superstar K2 were scouted by Park Jin Young himself during his tenure as a judge on the show. Unfortunately, everything doesn’t always work out according to plan.
JYPE president Park Jin Young expressed interest in Huh Gak and John Park a while back after judging for Mnet’s Superstar K2. He was the 4th judge in the panel for the show along with Lee Seung Chul, Yoon Jong Shin, and Uhm Jung Hwa until his busy schedule in the U.S. forced him to leave his post as a judge. However, the two singers left quite an impression on him.
According to an acquaintance, JYP was amazed at the potential and the growth of Huh Gak and John Park and admired them both. But unfortunately, the window of opportunity was missed. Instead of a new superstar duet group debuting under JYP, the two talented singers will make their way in the industry on separate paths.
“A representative of JYPE stated, “Park Jin Young noticed the star potential of Huh Gak and John Park early on in ‘Superstar K2.’ At the time, he even wanted to scout them into JYPE. However, due to his busy schedule after the end the show, he wasn’t able to act on his plans. And to take Huh Gak and John Park and debut them as rookie stars, they’ve already become too famous for that.”

“Star Golden Bell” bids farewell to its viewers
KBS 2TV’s popular variety show, “Star Golden Bell“, has officially reached its end after a solid six-year run.
After first debuting as “Star Golden Bell”, the show later reinvented itself to re-emerge as a ’season two’ version, “Star Golden Bell: Freshmen Class.” Yet the second season lasted only 5 months, before producers decided that the show should finally come to an end. The last episode was aired on the afternoon of November 20th amidst tears and feelings of gratitude.
KBS anchorman Jun Hyun Mu, the MC for the show, stated, “It was an honor to be able to MC for KBS. This will be a program I will never forget. I will continue to show viewers improved sides of myself in the near future.”
Anchorwoman Jung Da Eun also added, “It’s so upsetting having to separate after we’ve all gotten so close to each other. I will appear before the viewers once more through another opportunity.”
Ji Suk Jin concluded, “I’m thankful for the 6,000 different stars that participated in this show over the years more than anything else.”
Gagwoman Jung Juri, a fixed panelist for the show, ended up bursting into tears mid-episode.
“Star Golden Bell” will be replaced by Park Myung Su and Park Kyung Lim’s new show, “100 Points out of 100” on the 27th.

SM Entertainment officials say they would welcome Hankyung back
Amidst controversies surrounding Hankyung’s Chinese CF, his agency, SM Entertainment, has revealed that they would still take back Hankyung, if he should decide to return to Korea.
A representative of the agency spoke with New Daily on November 19th and stated, “Hankyung filed an injunction against SM Entertainment on December 21st, 2009. All of the investigations have been completed and we’re waiting on is the final judgment. We’re curious on the reason as to why the court has yet to pass a judgment. The relationship between Hankyung and SM Entertainment is only becoming uncomfortable because of such delays.”
Regarding their feelings on Hankyung’s actual contract, the representative went on to state:
“At the time of the contract signing, Hankyung was present with his mother and clearly heard the explanation that the contract would be for 13 years. He is the one that signed it. For him to come out now and claim that he received unjust treatment from Korea and that the entire contract is invalid is ridiculous.
China has advanced a lot recently, but at the time, how could he have earned the skills in China in order to become an international star? Hankyung himself knew that SME’s star system was superior, which is why he came to Korea.
There were a few months in the beginning of Super Junior’s career where he was met with uncomfortable situations due to his visa problems, but the fact that he is claiming the contract as invalid is just an excuse.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding ’slave contracts’ in the entertainment industry lately, and the way we see it, Hankyung just wanted to join the bandwagon and is now being used by associates around him. If he knows that he did not become a top star in China on his own with absolutely no background, I hope that he will think once more on whether it is right for him to go against the company that has raised him thus far.
At the time of his lawsuit, the Super Junior members and company employees found out about it through the newspaper. We are also praying that his recent CF controversy isn’t true as well.
Despite all of this, SM Entertainment believes that it is better for both Hankyung and the company to come back together as opposed to terminating the contract. Whenever Hankyung wants to return, we will take him back.”

Seulong had a bad first impression of Junho because…?
On the November 20th broadcast of MBC’s “Quiz That Changed The World,” 2AM’s Seulong shared his first impression of 2PM’s Junho from back in the day:
“I had a negative first impression of Junho because he resembled Rain. He even mimicked his walking style! I even approached Junho one time, thinking that he was Rain.”
Junho shrugged off the topic with an embarrassed smile, and later made his fans swoon with a sexy dance performance.
Yet Seulong wasn’t alone in having a bad first impression of a groupmate during their One Day period. Jo Kwon, who was also a guest on the show, recalled his first impression of Nichkhun, and jokingly said, ”I had a bad first impression of him because he was way too handsome.”

Agencies use caution towards SNSD, KARA, and Big Bang’s participation in Kohaku
In contrast to news articles in Japan hyping SNSD, KARA, and Big Bang’s participation in the Japanese annual music show, “Kohaku Uta Gassen (Kohaku)“, the groups’ agencies are instead showing a more cautious response.
Speculation that Korean idol groups will be attending the music show has been a hot topic in the Japanese press lately. The media has been writing articles of their possible attendance even before Kohaku’s announcement of the official list of performers, showing a new phase in which K-pop is becoming of increasing significance in the Japanese music industry.
But despite this, the three idol groups are still weary on whether to participate in the show. “It’s difficult for us say anything when an official announcement hasn’t been made yet,” was the general statement made by all three agencies.
It can be said that the Korean agencies are being cautious due to the possibility of unexpected conditions. For example, if, for some reason, the agencies choose to exclude their groups from the event at the last minute, they would need to protect themselves from the respective consequences, so being cautious at the outset helps avoid any trouble. Additionally, showing interest in an event when the official announcement hasn’t even been made yet won’t always result in a beneficial outcome.
There is also the problem of keeping loyal to the Korean broadcasting companies. If the groups attend Kohaku, which is to be held on New Year’s Eve, it would be impossible for them to participate in the Korean year end public TV music show broadcasts.
The official announcement for the performers of Kohaku will be posted between late November to early December.

SNSD fans angered over Taiwanese TV show accusing SNSD of providing sexual favors
Taiwan’s Super TV entertainment program, “Super Lucky” (命運好好玩) became the latest media outlet to report on the suspicions surrounding Korean female celebrities in providing sexual favors for fame. While the topic itself is controversial, it became more so once outraged fans discovered that the producers used images of SNSD to illustrate their points.
The show featured a famous critic named Chen Ling Ling and Taiwanese idol Lin Wei Ling.
The stars claimed, “Korean female celebrities must provide sexual favors and are forced to undergo plastic surgery.”
An image of SNSD along with a large caption stating “Sexual Favors” was then brought up, which gave viewers the impression that SNSD was the most representative case.
Chen Ling-Ling explained, “There are numerous rules in the Korean entertainment industry, and one of them is providing sexual favors. Agencies teach singing, dancing, and acting, and heavily manage their celebrities. Once their schedules are completed, however, they call the celebrities back out in order to participate in a dinner. This is usually considered the ‘first meeting’, and tends to be just a dinner. However, once dinner is over, the person will call the agency representative and express their desire to see her again. The next meeting is when the sexual favor takes place. Korean celebrities are forced to commit such acts, even at a young age.”
She continued, “I think that this is really unfortunate. Why must a celebrity receive such a phone call? But regardless, this is universal in Korea’s industry. Their agencies place an immense amount of pressure on the girls and force them so that they cannot refuse. It’s such an unfortunate case, but I heard that agency representatives force their celebrities to providing sexual favors, even driving some to the point of suicide.”
A few months ago, Lin Wei Ling (Estrella Lin) made a shocking confession when she revealed that she was canvassed to barter her body in exchange for an opportunity to make it in Korea. Lin reiterated her story on the show, saying, “I was requested to provide sexual favors while promoting in Korea.” Additionally, the Taiwanese singer claimed that she was forced to go under the knife: “I had to undergo plastic surgery while working in Korea. They told me to put fat in my face. I told them that I didn’t want to, and they stated that it was my responsibility as a celebrity to do so.”
Another guest on the show, Vivian, added, “It’s the price of being a celebrity. People think that all you need are looks, a pretty face, and dreams of becoming a celebrity.” Vivian went as far as to provide a chart and aggressively criticized Korean celebrities.
Fans angrily began questioning, “Why are you messing with SNSD” and “Just because SNSD is so popular, you must forcefully tack on meaningless rumors.”
Meanwhile, Super Junior’s Ryeowook tweeted in disgust, “This old lady can’t even differentiate between poop and bean paste, she’s just going all out, wow~ even i as a man can’t handle it… tsk tsk“.
SM Entertainment also issued a strongly worded statement after learning about it, “The content of the Taiwanese broadcast program was exaggerated and false. This is a serious case of defamation against SNSD and is damaging to their image. SME will be going through the proper procedures in order to take action against the broadcast show.”

Rocker Kim Jong Seo confesses Orange Caramel’s Lizzy is favorite girl group member
On the upcoming broadcast of MBC’s gag show “For The First Time (난생처음)”, veteran rocker Kim Jong Seo chose After School / Orange Caramel’s Lizzy as his favorite girl group member.
After he revealed his favorite member, he was asked, “Isn’t Orange Caramel’s Lizzy too young for you?“, to which he responded, “I chose her from a perspective of a fan, so there is no problem.”
Furthermore, during one of the show’s corners called, “Mind Analysis Clinic,” Kim Jong Seo shared his worries that although he is a rocker, he spends more time with dishwashing cloths in his hands than a microphone.
Meanwhile, this will be the show’s first episode, with MCs Jung Hyung Don, Gil and Horan. It will air its first episode on November 3rd.

Moon Geun Young explains why people think she can knock back drinks
Remember when 2PM member Taecyeon made a surprising revelation that cute actress Moon Geun Young can drink alcohol well?
Another star confirmed Taecyeon’s statement as Jang Geun Suk (Moon Geun Young’s drama partner in “Mary Stayed Out All Night”) stated, “I thought Moon Geun Young would only eat Yoplait yogurt but I was surprised because she was very good at drinking alcohol.”
However, Moon Geun Young attempted to explain the misunderstanding, as she denied, “I am not good at drinking but I hold onto my consciousness through will. Because I have a habit of returning safely, I always try hard to stay awake during drinking so I think it makes the other individual believe that I am good at it.”
Meanwhile, Moon Geun Young who recently made a comeback to the big screen after 5 months, will play the main female lead in the drama “Mary Stayed Out All Night”. The highly anticipated show begins airing on November 8th, so be sure to catch the first episode!
miss A’s Suzy takes you on a photo tour through their waiting room!
JYP Entertainment’s girl group miss A is considered to be one of this year’s brightest stars. Their unique music and performance style allowed them to separate themselves from the massive hoard of girl groups that have debuted this year.
Indeed, with their two singles “Bad Girl Good Girl” and “Breathe“, miss A was able to dominate the music charts and skyrocket to the stratospheric levels of A-list girl groups.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes on backstage in the waiting room, maknae Suzy has invited us to take a look around at the private proceedings and laugh with her over her other members’ charisma.
–
“Hello, this is miss A’s Suzy. Thank you for giving so much love to ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’ and ‘Breathe.’ We feel tired due to our hectic schedules, but the moment we stand on stage and listen to everyones’ support, we experience a surge of energy. A lot of you were curious about what we did backstage, but we’re just like any other girls our age. We chat and joke around and eat a lot of snacks.
Jia and Fei unnis may be Chinese, but three years of living in Korea have given them enough experience to understand our jokes. I’ll show you a bit of our back stage, come along.”
9. We received our first trophy for “Breathe.” We got so excited that all of us took turns taking a picture with it. Here is cute Min unni. She is a very talented person that has trained for eight years.
